Vök Baths

Vök Baths is a bathing facility by Lake Urriðavatn, a short distance from Egilsstaðir in East Iceland, on Hróarstunguvegur (road 925). The baths are built by the lake where geothermal water from boreholes is used in the pools and hot tubs in the area. In the lagoon there are floating hot pools in Lake Urriðavatn that merge with the lake in an impressive way. On land there are more hot tubs and a steam bath. There is also a facility for cold bathing in the lake. The water in the baths is a mixture of geothermal water and water from Lake Urriðavatn and is not chlorinated or chemically treated. In the service building there are changing rooms, a tea bar, and a pool bar. On site there is also the restaurant Vök Bistro, which offers light refreshments with a view over the lake.
