Skagaströnd Swimming Pool

The swimming pool in Skagaströnd is located on Einbúastígur, at the western edge of the town, a short distance from Spákonufellshöfði. The pool is an outdoor pool, originally built in 1947, and for a long time it was heated with electricity until a geothermal heating system was installed in the town in 2013. The main pool is 6 x 12 metres, and considerable improvements have been made to the facility, including in 2017 when the pool liner was replaced and a new hot tub with a viewing wall was installed. The swimming pool is operated by the municipality of Skagaströnd and is connected to the town’s general sports and leisure facilities. It is used by locals and visitors all year round and serves as a local service in the town.
