Hólmavík Swimming Pool

The swimming pool in Hólmavík is part of the local Sports Center and was formally opened in 2004. The pool is a 25-meter outdoor pool with two hot tubs, a children’s wading pool, and a steam bath. The facilities are neat and well designed, and serve both residents and tourists all year round. By the swimming pool there are good changing facilities and showers, and there is also a gym in the sports hall. The campsite in Hólmavík, which offers a variety of facilities for travelers, is a short distance from the swimming pool. Before the swimming pool in Hólmavík was put into use, people from the area had to go to Laugarhóll to swim, but with the arrival of the new pool it became much easier for the residents of Strandabyggð to go swimming.
