Sundlaugin á Birkimel

The swimming pool in Laugarnes on Barðaströnd, also called Laugarneslaug or the swimming pool at Birkimel, is a small concrete outdoor pool with an exceptionally beautiful view over Breiðafjörður. The pool consists of a single concrete swimming pool and a magnificent hot tub that lies lower down on the shoreline and is built from natural stone. There, people can relax in hot water and enjoy the view of the mountains. The pool is operated by the Barðaströnd Youth Association and is open during the summer. Guests are encouraged to contribute with voluntary donations in the collection box by the changing rooms. Laugarneslaug is a simple yet charming swimming pool that offers a straightforward but unique experience in the natural gem that is Barðaströnd.
