Sky Lagoon

Sky Lagoon is a spa located at Vesturvör on Kársnes in Kópavogur. The lagoon is 38–40°C warm and offers a tranquil setting for relaxation with a view where sky and sea meet. Admission includes the so-called Ritual treatment, which consists of seven steps, each focused on well-being and rejuvenation. The Ritual treatment begins in the warm lagoon and continues with a brief dip in a cold pool (5°C) to stimulate blood circulation and strengthen the immune system. After that, guests go into a sauna (80–90°C) with an ocean view, followed by a cold mist (~5°C) that invigorates skin and body. The next step is the Sky salt scrub, which cleanses and softens the skin, followed by a warm steam bath (~46°C) to seal in the effects. The facilities at Sky Lagoon are based on Icelandic turf-building techniques, which give the place a distinctive character. For guests seeking increased privacy, access to private changing rooms with bathroom facilities and showers is available. Sky Lagoon also offers refreshments, including drinks and light snacks, which complete the experience.
