Forest Lagoon

Forest Baths are located in Vaðlaskógur on Vaðlaheiði, opposite Akureyri, about a 5-minute drive from the town center. The baths are connected to tourism in the area and use geothermal water that was discovered during the construction of the Vaðlaheiði tunnel. In the area there are two large, hot outdoor natural pools with views over Eyjafjörður and Akureyri, with indoor access to one of the pools. By the pools there are two to three swim-up bars, a cold tub, and a Finnish dry sauna where guests sit in dry heat. The baths are surrounded by forest, which provides shelter and shapes the environment. In the Forest Baths service building is Skógur Bistro, offering dining facilities, a fireplace, and an outdoor area with views over the fjord. Forest Baths serve as a bathing destination for visitors to the area and are part of the leisure offerings of Akureyri and Eyjafjarðarsveit.
