Seltjarnarneslaug Swimming Pool
Seltjarnarnes Swimming Pool is part of the Seltjarnarnes sports center and is directly connected to the sports hall, football pitch and the World Class fitness center. The hot water in the pool comes straight from the boreholes of the Seltjarnarnes District Heating nearby. The water is said to be gentle on sensitive skin and suitable for those who suffer from eczema, which adds to the pool’s special appeal. The main pool is 25 meters long with four lanes and a temperature of 29°C. For children there is both a 48-square-meter children’s pool, 90 cm deep and with a temperature of 35°C, and a shallow wading pool with a temperature of 36–38°C. In the area there are also four hot tubs, including one massage tub, with temperatures ranging from 38–44°C, and two cold tubs with temperatures of 4–8°C. You can also find a steam bath and a waterslide at the pool. Seltjarnarnes Swimming Pool is particularly family-friendly, with play equipment for children and facilities suitable for people with reduced mobility. A special changing room is available for disabled people and senior citizens, making it possible to have an assistant regardless of gender. A variety of activities take place in connection with the pool. These include water aerobics four times a week, floating sessions once a week, and crawl swimming courses for adults. The KR swimming division holds regular training sessions in the pool, and World Class offers excellent fitness facilities. Seltjarnarnes Swimming Pool combines good facilities for swimming, relaxation and recreation with the unique, mineral-rich water, making it a popular destination for families, those who want to work out, or anyone seeking well-being in a peaceful environment.
