Sundlaugin á Illugastöðum er staðsett í orlofshúsahverfi í Fnjóskadal í Akureyrarbæ, umkringd dreifbýli og skógi vöxnum hlíðum. Svæðið hefur verið uppbyggt sem orlofs- og frístundasvæði frá árinu 1968 og tengist starfsemi nokkurra stéttarfélaga sem eiga orlofshús þar.

Á Illugastöðum er 16,5 metra útilaug sem er opin almenningi yfir sumarmánuðina. Við laugina eru tveir heitir pottar og afmörkuð sólbaðsaðstaða á verönd, auk hefðbundinna búnings- og sturtuaðstöðu.

Sundlaugin þjónar bæði gestum orlofshúsanna og nærsamfélaginu í Fnjóskadal og er hluti af heildaraðstöðu svæðisins sem nýtist til útivistar og samveru yfir sumartímann.

The swimming pool at Illugastaðir is located in a holiday cottage area in Fnjóskadalur in the municipality of Akureyri, surrounded by rural countryside and forested slopes. The area has been developed as a holiday and leisure zone since 1968 and is connected to the activities of several trade unions that own holiday cottages there.

At Illugastaðir there is a 16.5-metre outdoor pool that is open to the public during the summer months. By the pool there are two hot tubs and a designated sunbathing area on a terrace, in addition to standard changing rooms and shower facilities.

The swimming pool serves both guests of the holiday cottages and the local community in Fnjóskadalur and is part of the area’s overall facilities, which are used for outdoor recreation and social gatherings during the summer season.
