Glerárlaug Swimming Pool

Glerárlaug is an indoor swimming pool that is well suited for public swimming and learning how to swim. The pool is 16.7 meters long and is particularly suitable for younger age groups and organized swimming lessons. The indoor facilities are simple and clean, with good accessibility for people with disabilities. The changing rooms have lockers. An accessible individual changing room is located in the sports hall and there is a chair lift by the pool itself. In the outdoor area there are two modern hot tubs, a wading pool and a cold tub. There is also a steam bath and an outdoor shower. The outdoor area was reopened in 2025 after extensive renovations and now features a sunbathing area and improved access. A special mobile lift is available to further improve access to the tubs for people with disabilities. Glerárlaug combines good basic facilities for swimming and relaxation with an emphasis on accessibility and comfort.
