GeoSea

GeoSea sea baths are located at Vitaslóð 1 in Húsavík, on Húsavíkurhöfði right by the yellow lighthouse, with a view over Skjálfandi Bay. The baths are based on geothermal and seawater springs that have long been utilized in the area, among other places at the so‑called Ostakar, which used to be a popular bathing spot for locals. The facilities consist of interconnected hot pools where the geothermal water flows over the edges and the view is unique. The mineral-rich water comes from two boreholes, and the constant flow through the pools ensures that it is not necessary to use cleaning chemicals or filtration equipment. Indoors there is a reception area, changing rooms and showers, and the building is designed in harmony with the landscape at the cliff edge. By the pool there is a bar where guests can purchase refreshments, as well as indoor seating.
